What is the right time to start preparing for the CAT for a BBA student?

Start the preparation in pre-final year of BBA. 8–10 months of preparation is good enough for CAT. Till then, your main focus should be on scoring well in college exams. Scoring top grades in these exams is as important as scoring well in CAT EXAM for getting into a top B-school.

There are some parameters considered by top B-schools. CAT score is also one of them. Other parameters are:

• Your class 10th score
• Your class 12th score
• Your score in graduation
• Your stream in graduation
• Work experience
• Gender

Out of the parameters mentioned above, only two are under your control at this stage:

1. Score in graduation
2. CAT score

Since you have decided  to go for CAT Coaching, it is good to take some small steps towards the preparation. You can work upon building skills. It is also a part of CAT preparation and will help you a lot in future. Start reading books / magazines / newspaper editorials. Devote at least 1 hour everyday to reading.
